The dragon will follow the path of the reticle to a certain extent, allowing you to dodge enemy fire and avoid stationary obstacles.
You can also hold tge the fire button to highlight multiple enemies, so that when you release the button you fire a multi-shot that takes them all out at the same time. Daytona USA gets a lot of guff for being a bit buggy, but my opinion it's every bit as fun as Ridge Racer on the PlayStation, but with way more claasic.
